  • Cicada song under the fig tree beside the mural of the bull at the northern entrance of the Minoan palace of Knossos
  • "vanilla submarine” in the company of a small cup of coffee under the sounds of the dice and the worry-beads of elder men
  • Dipped in milk, egg and sugar, fried in olive oil, sprinkled with cinnamon “energizing” toast as well as a “quince spoon sweet” by a grandmother
  • Loaf of bread blessed by the father, kneaded by the mother
  • Syntrophic call “for a raki shot” along with fresh artichokes and fava beans, nuts, olives, tomato and cheese
  • Companion (synteknos) who, instead of saying things, would rather dance them for you
  • Mountain and plain life, in pasturelands which signals the return of the “homo erectus” (anthropos) to paradise
  • Strong sense of community belonging which provides one with a purpose in lifeclear-blue water, an air that smells mountain tea (erontas), thyme and oregano and a light that insists on being Greek
  • Wine-colored (oinops) sea, a travel, an adventure that nourishes a brackish moisture and conscious return to one’s footsteps
  • Homeric, polytropos Odysseus who still produces and is relentlessly resourceful, despite the current Cyclopes and Laestrygonians, Scylla and Charybdiscitizen of the world besieged by the sacred vow of a charmolypous nostos
  • Heraclitian soul which is the beginning of the world, the exhalation or “the way up” that progresses via Ephesians steps in stoic paces
  • Cathartic, therapeutic, Orthodox branch that never forgets its roots
  • A syncretic way on the world map which is Minoan, Greek, Byzantine, an East-West composition, Universal!
